The perfect mix between world class wading class IV rapids in search of 20+ pound payara and giant sardinata on the Orinoco river, good catfish shing and excellent opportunities at catching multiple 10-22 pound peacock bass on a variety of lures. Luxury individual cabin style tents with full size beds, marine toilets installed at each portable camp as well as meals designed and served by chefs means the benefits of camping in the most remote and virgin corner of the northern Orinoco Basin, without sacrifcing any comfort of a mixed lodge. DAY 1:
Arrrive to Bogota.
Rest at a hotel provided by Fish Colombia
DAY 2:
The next day you will join the main guide in the hotel to take the daily flight from Bogotá - Puerto Carreno from the Aeropuerto El Dorado. At your arrival in Puerto Carreno our driver will be waiting for you to commence the 4 hour 4x4 ride down unmarked roads through natural savannah full of deer, tapir, pumas and anacondas until you reach the mouth of the Tomo river. The arrival time to camp depends on what time the domestic flight is. That night will be spent in the Orinoco Camp. There is great payara shing right at camp.
PAYARA FISHING DAYS

The Orinoco camp is located on the part of the Orinoco with the most rapids. The natural beauty is unrivaled, and the pull of a land-based 20+ pound payara in strong currents is also without equal. The amount of fish and low pressures means the fishing here is world class, expect to run into big payara, sardinata and bicuda. Boats are shared between 2 anglers. 3 rapid systems can be fished from this camp, as well as the mouth of the Tomo river.
PEACOCK FISHING DAYS

After the 2 days of payara fishing, you will head up the river to access the peacock waters and change camps. You will transverse the beautiful rapids of the river where you will need to walk 150 meters were the crew will drag the boats through 40 meters of dangerous but beautiful rapids. We will reach the orinoco lodge where we will be spending the next 4 nights. The time spent will be under the protection of the local autonomous Sikuani natives.

WILDLIFE
The Amazon is the most biodiverse region in the planet. The entire river is a protected area with pristine rainforest. Expect to run into wildlife during your stay including many iconic species like the Amazon river dolphin, tapirs, the green anaconda, giant otters and the elusive jaguar.
LAST DAY
On the 8th and last fishing day you will fish your way down the river. You will fish the entire day for peacock bass until 4.30pm where you must make your way down approximately 1 hour from the last peacock lagoons to the Orinoco lodge were you will spend the last night at camp. You can also fish half day payara and half day peacock bass. The following day you will depart from camp back to the Puerto Carreno airport to fly back to Bogota.
