Trip Report Darien Lodge - February 22, 2025 -Punta Ardita (Bahía Solano), Colombia

The Whole Truth 🐠

Hey, anglers!

In this first report, we’re bringing you an intense fishing adventure with two groups of anglers from different countries, each with different fishing goals. Strategy, patience, persistence, and the crew’s expertise were key to making it a success.

After analyzing various factors for the season and the changing weather, we decided to target snook, tuna, red snapper, jack, and more.

The weather forecast looked promising, and the action started early in the day. We set off from Bahía Solano to Punta Ardita, heading about 25 miles offshore, and luck was on our side—we found a massive school of tuna surrounded by birds, dolphins, and plenty of baitfish. It was the perfect start for our guests at the lodge, and a great warm-up for the days ahead. It turned out to be a day of nonstop tuna action, with catches of all sizes.

For the following days, our strategy played out just as planned. The group's goal was to land snook, tuna, and cubera snapper, and we successfully checked all the boxes.

With the second group now on board, we've had two solid days of fishing, bringing in tuna of various sizes, groupers, and jacks. There are still three full days of fishing ahead, and we’re looking forward to hitting our targets.
